The Netherlands - Class CRMBr

To celebrate European lang day class CRMBr had a visit from Mrs Jenkins who told us all about what it was like growing up in the Netherlands.

We found Holland and its capital, Amsterdam, on a map of Europe. It’s very small.

We learnt about Holland being famous for cheese, waffles, tulips, liquorice and windmills. We looked at the wooden clogs the children would have worn and some of us tried them on – they were very comfortable.

Mrs Jenkins taught us to sing head, shoulders, knees and toes in Dutch- that made us laugh. We learnt to count to 5 – een, twee ,drie, vier, vyf.

Finally we got to try the lovely cheeses, biscuit waffles and liquorice sweets.

Thank you Mrs Jenkins.
