Class RJ have had some really fun RE lessons this week. Under our new theme of "The Body of Christ", we began by exploring how the body is important to us. We talked about which parts of our body we can't survive without, learnt a body percussion rhythm exploring how our body can be used to make different sounds, and then finally on Friday we made moving dolls, learning how a lever can make things move.
The dolls represent our school as a body. We talked about how Mrs Cann is the head and the children decided which part the other staff members play at our school. Are they the feet as they keep the place running or the neck and body, holding us together?
The lesson on levers at the end of the week was incredibly exciting and the children enjoyed exploring how moving the fulcrum has an impact on how far objects travel. Then they made their dancing people.
We are so pleased with the final product and thoroughly enjoyed learning our rhythm. Do ask the children to perform "First you make your fingers click" to you! Thanks to Mrs Lucas for her creativity, as ever!
