Whole School Letter (38)

ASSEMBLY CHANGE
We have had a change to the assembly Rota:
Class LC will now be on 3 July and Class PLDD will now be on 10 July

STAFF CHANGES – Omission
I omitted on the previous letter to pass on our thanks to Mr Greenacre who has been teaching one of our Year 6 classes with Mrs Morgan on a job share since January. We are pleased that he will be continuing to work with us in school on a supply basis from September.

LEAVING ABSENCE MESSAGES ON THE ANSWERPHONE
Please can parents remember to leave your child’s CLASS as well as their name when ringing in with absences BEFORE 8.30am, this helps speed up getting the message to the right teacher on time.

CLASS PHOTOS – Wednesday 17 June
Please can we remind children to bring in their school sweatshirt for the photos on Wednesday.

REMINDER NON PUPIL DAY - Friday 19 June
There is no school this Friday, if you have paid dinner money for Friday it will be returned via your child.

SPORTS DAY – Wednesday 24 June
Foundation and Key Stage 1 races will be held first from 9.30-10.30am, followed by Key Stage 2 from 10.30-11.30am. After their races the Foundation and KS1 children will watch a few of the KS2 races and then return to school for the rest of the day.
If the weather should be inclement, the reserve day is Friday 26 June at the same times.
Please ensure that your child has their PE kit at school (KS2 need their House tee-shirt) and a sun hat and sun cream are advisable if hot. Children are allowed to wear trainers if they wish.
All children should bring a water bottle (plastic only).
Please do NOT park in Coucy Close – in the first instance park in the Elms car park but if that is full you can park on the back playground.
In the past some of the children got upset when their parents came over to see them and they were then not allowed to go and sit with their parents, please could we ask that parents keep to the opposite side of the track to the children and not come over to speak with them. Also for this reason, we would ask that Nursery children are collected in the usual manner and at the usual time from the Nursery and not taken from the sports field. Thank you for your help in this matter.
If you are able to volunteer help at Sports day please see Mr Vaughan.

SPECIAL SCHOOL LUNCH ‘Paddington Bear’s Birthday Lunch’ – Thursday 25 June
Look out for the special menus for this in the classrooms or by the office. Children can bring a small Teddy Bear to lunch on this day.

If you are able to offer any help for the summer fete the Friends would really appreciate it! They will need help during the day to set up the field, help after school to continue with the set up, help running stalls between 6pm-8pm and help to clear away at the end (eg clearing the field, taking empties to bottle bank etc). If you are able to offer any time at all on this day please contact Karen Debenham 01728 638938 or email Karen.debenham@btinternet.com. Thank you

FRIENDS COMMITTEE
The Friends will be holding their AGM in September. They do a tremendous job organising wonderful events throughout the year, which raise much-needed funds to purchase equipment for your children that we would otherwise be unable to.
There are a number of committee members who are stepping down this year, including the Chairperson, so there will be vacancies for any parents who would like to support the school in this way, have fun, and make friends in the process.
Please contact Karen Debenham on 01728 638938 or email Karen.debenham@btinternet.com to find out more. Any of the Friends will be more than happy to be asked about their role, interested parents could also speak to some of them at the Summer Fete.

GUITAR LESSONS – KS2
There will be 8 spaces available in September for Guitar Lessons. If your child is interested, please collect a form from the Office. Those who have already filled in the forms do not need to re-apply, as their places have been confirmed.

MEND PROGRAMME
This programme is free and fun aiming at children (age 7-13) becoming fitter, happier and healthier. If you are worried your child might be unhealthy and overweight, and if you would like them to be more active and enjoy exercise then you may wish to look into this. The programme includes weekly games and activities, fun and interactive discussions to teach effective ways to improve your child’s confidence, practical demonstrations and tips about healthy eating.
For further details call 01473 770 007.
