Class LH were all very excited to be going to Robin Wood for Forest Schools. Luckily the weather was dry and sunny and we had a great morning exploring the wood.
Mrs Waddell showed us how to make spiders in their webs. We used conkers for their bodies and had to use a palm drill to make the hole carefully in the conker wearing special gloves to stay safe. It was tricky feeding the pipe cleaners through the hole in the conker to create their legs. The web was made from wool wrapped around sticks and we had to really concentrate winding the wool around to make the webs even. Look at our amazing webs in the pictures.
After this, we then “got busy” - we enjoyed the digging area; role play with the woodland fairies and toys; den building; bug
hotel making; balancing in the hammocks; creating an obstacle course, and of course cooking in the
mud kitchen – ‘The British Bake Off’ had better watch out with the creations
that were being made and served in the cafe.
We finished with a lovely warm cup of hot chocolate and biscuit which we were really ready for!!
