Year 1 and Year 2 had a really informative and interesting talk from Sam who volunteers for the RNLI. He told us about the history of the RNLI, talked about different types of lifeboats, showed us some rescues of a variety of animals, spoke about Grace Darling and shared information about how to stay safe in the water, on the beach and told us about what the flags mean. Lots of questions were asked by many of the children too and it was lovely to see them so engaged. They listened really well and it was a great way to start our “Land Ahoy” topic. Did you know that the busiest lifeboat station in the UK is actually inland at the Chiswick Bridge in London?
Thank you to all those who made a donation to the RNLI – Sam, on behalf of the RNLI, was very grateful for this.
