MRS ELPHICK’S LEAVING EVENT – Wednesday 21 July
All parents are invited to join their children and the staff on the school field for a fun afternoon celebration and farewell for Mrs Elphick. It will be held on Wednesday 21 July from 1.30 – 3.00pm. Please bring something to sit on, we will be providing cakes for all and ice creams for the children. Younger siblings are more than welcome too. The back playground can be used for parking but please take care if arriving before 1.30 as the children will be using it to access the field. If you park elsewhere please be considerate and do not block the drives of our neighbours.

REMINDER FAMILY SPORTS AND SUMMER FUN EVENING - Friday 11 June
Please order advance tickets by this Wednesday (9 June) in order to take advantage the £2 price saving. Advance booking also helps us with planning the catering for the BBQ and Bar.
If the weather is too wet to run the sports part of the event, we will let all the children know in Friday’s Assembly. We will refund all advance tickets, however we will still have a free event in the hall from 6.00pm – 7.30pm which will include the bottle tombola, children’s tombola, lucky dip, lucky lollies, face painting, ice creams, candy floss, tuck shop, bar, Pimms bar, cake stall, toy stall, book stall and eco council stall – so still plenty of things for everyone to come along to – we hope you will still support us if the weather is poor. (There will be no Maypole dancing if we are in the hall)

STORYTELLER THEATRE – Tuesday 15 June
A production of ‘Alice in Wonderland’ is to take place during the morning of Tuesday 15 June.
The cost of this production is £330 therefore we would ask for a voluntary donation of £1.00 per child. According to the Governors’ Policy of Charges and Remissions for School Activities parents who are in receipt of: (a) Income Support; (b) Income Based Job Seekers Allowance; (c) Child Tax Credit and do not receive Working Tax Credit and who have an annual taxable income of less than £16040; (d) Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999; or (e) a guaranteed element of State Pension Credit do not need to pay for this event. Nor will they be expected to make a voluntary contribution of money unless they wish to do so. Teachers will deal with the collection of money in the same sensitive way that operates for those children who receive free school meals.
Please complete the form overleaf and return it to the class teacher by Monday 14 June.

PHOTOGRAPHS – Wednesday 16 June
On Wednesday 16 June the photographer will be coming to take class, sports teams and Year 6 photos. Please can you ensure that the children have their sweatshirts with them for the photograph even if it’s a hot day. Also could children in sports teams ensure they have their PE kit in school and relevant footwear e.g. football boots, trainers etc.

REMINDER ABOUT SUN PROTECTION
Now that we hope the warmer weather will be upon us, please can we remind parents to apply sun screen protection to their child before they come to school. During this summer term the children may have PE lessons outside and of course swimming lessons. It is also important that they wear a sun hat at break and lunchtimes. Thank you.

SAINSBURY’S VOUCHERS
We are still accepting these vouchers until Wednesday 30 June, when we will need to ‘bank’ them to place our order for free resources. Please hand any into the office. Thank you.

DO YOU HAVE ANY UNWANTED PLAYMOBIL?
Mr Trythall, who used to teach here, now teaches in a school in India. If you have any unwanted Playmobil characters or sets his school would very much like to have them. Please bring donations to the school office by Friday 18 June, when Mr Trythall and his family will be popping in and can collect them. Thank you.
