This week, the children in VW have been incredibly busy.
As well as some fantastic performances in the Swimming Gala, I was impressed by the sportsmanship, teamwork and resilience shown by all the children. Many children stepped up when others were poorly and I'm proud of all of them.
In
addition, we've been preparing for our trip to London but writing letters to
our local MP. We've looked at the structures of such letters and thought
carefully about the formal language and grammatical devices utilised. The
children drafted their work and have written them up on paper, in preparation
to take to London today. The children had free choice of what issues to write
about, with many children writing about issues close to their hearts such as
the cost of living, increasing sport provision in state schools and Climate
Change. Here's a small selection of the work they have produced.
As
mathematicians, the children have been working in 4 quadrants, learning
about plotting coordinates, translation and reflection.
