On Wednesday the annual Sir Robert Hitcham's Swimming Gala took place at Framlingham College Swimming Pool.
Children from Year 5 and 6 competed in their Houses in series of races for the chance to win the coveted Swimming Gala trophy. The Year 5's competed first followed by the Year 6's.
The Year 5 contest was very close with just 6 points separating the four houses at the half way stage - the Year 6 contest proved to be just as competitive with the lead house changing position several times.
The whole event was very well supported by both the children and watching parents - it was a pleasure to see the children competing in an atmosphere that was both supportive and respectful. There was a real sense of team spirit and determination with all of the children, regardless of ability, wanting to race and do their best for their house.
A huge well done to the children, all staff involved and a special thank you to the staff at Framlingham College for running the event so well. The winners will be announced in a special assembly next week.
