A sprinkling of Christmas magic in Robin Wood

Class LH enjoyed their final morning at Forest Schools on another crisp, cold morning.

Having found out about the names of the different parts of leaves; their shapes and types, this week we did some leaf rubbings from the nine different trees around Robin Wood.

We also created some different Christmas ornaments which included a Father Christmas and a robin from wood disks; a fir cone Christmas Tree and some bracelets using elder wood.  We also had a go at lighting the fairy blankets, enjoyed the mud kitchen, used our problem solving skills to set up a water run with the piping, digging in the mud pit and of course looking for minibeasts and worms under the logs.

Thank you so much to Mrs Waddell and Mrs Crittenden for making our learning so enjoyable up at the wood.
