Mr Castell, our sports coach, has been instrumental in setting up our play leaders who had to go through a "job application" process for the position. As volunteers for the role, they have learnt a variety of activities to play and engage with the younger children.
The play leaders have been setting up some of these different games using hoola hoops, bean bags, dice and other equipment. They have also been teaching and leading Key Stage 1 with some traditional games such as "What's the time Mr Wolf?" and "Duck, Duck, Goose" amongst others. Some of the play leaders have enjoyed sharing and reading books with the younger children too.
The play leaders always have a smile on their faces and are so encouraging to the range of children who join in their games. Well done to the play leaders for such a positive start.
