Jubilee Party Planners

Today, the children in Class VWh were transformed into Jubilee party planners!

They were tasked with planning a party for the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations for their local village/ town.

The following needed careful consideration: type of food they wanted to offer, decorations, entertainment and location. The budget was set at £1000 and they had to cater for 70 attendees.

When contemplating the venue, they had to think about the hourly rate to hire and calculate percentage discounts when a certain duration had passed.

Additionally, some offers seemed appealing but upon further investigation, they proved to be less cost- effective. With the food, were they going to provide a roast dinner for £23 per head, or give their guests a lighter meal option?

There were a range of choices and children had to use ‘Trial and Error’ strategies in order to remain under budget. The class worked collaboratively and had to produce an invoice of options for the potential client.
