Today, the whole school came together to start off a week of celebrations for the Queen’s Jubilee. The school council told us about the letter they sent to the Queen and shared with us the letter we received from her and her lady-in-waiting! The whole school then sung the National Anthem.
Next, Mrs Hall shared her memories of the Silver Jubilee
from when she was a student here at SRH. Mrs Cann and her Worship Team led us
in our collective worship and prayer.
Finally, the children were treated to two visitors who came
and shared their memories of the coronation and the life of the Queen. The
children even got a chance to practice their royal waves, bows and curtseys! We
even held a mock coronation to show the importance of the symbolism behind the
event.
Thank you so much to Mary (Mrs Ambrose’s mother) and Ann
(Miss Vaughan’s grandmother).
We cannot wait to share more of our learning and
celebrations with you as the week unfolds!
