This week we explored the parts of flowering plants by dissecting them. We had to cut off and identify different parts of a plant. This helped us to better understand the functions of the various parts and how they help the plant to reproduce.
As artists, we continued to develop our still life sketching and painting skills with Mrs Lucas. We were given some objects in a composition and asked to first sketch and then paint the objects as accurately as we could. In order to do this, we not only had to use a keen eye for detail but also use our colour matching and mixing skills.
Class MS have also been developing our speed and agility when sprinting in PE. We learnt how to start a race as well as focus on the end line to ensure we ran in straight line as quickly as we could. To make this more fun, we were given a partner with a tail made from a PE bib who we had to chase down before they reached the safety zone.
Finally, as part of our Sow, Grow and Farm unit we have been exploring the world of farming and food production. We have learnt all about different types of farming, the various climate zones around the world and their impact in food growth as well as discussing the impact of food miles on our diet as well as the environment.
