Coronation Week - Keepsakes & Memories

The children have had a week of making memories linked to the Coronation of King Charles III.

As a school we send our prayers and good wishes to His Majesty for his Coronation this weekend, and for his reign.

In celebration of this event, we are delighted to be able to give each child a Coronation Key Ring as a memento, and, in line with the King’s passion for gardening and re-wilding, we have been so lucky to receive a donation of a packet of flower seeds for every child from Thompson & Morgan (through one of our parents). Both of these gifts will be handed to the children today.

We are most grateful to Thompson & Morgan, for the kind and very generous donation – happy planting everyone!!!  We look forward to seeing how your seeds grow – perhaps before the summer holidays children can share the progress of their seedlings (as a photo) with their teacher & class.

The children have been busy this week:
  • making fabric bunting which is now strung around the playground
  • made a wonderful Crown each to wear at the Parade
  • decorated a plate for their afternoon tea party, on which they'll enjoy a sandwich and a delicious Coronation Cake made by Mrs Aldred
  • and completed a personalised mini keepsake card about themselves in 2023, which they will also bring home.
