In Science, the children have been learning about the refraction of light.
Last week, we attempted to use prisms in order to separate white light into its individual colours and understood that red bends the least as it has a longer wavelength.
Today, we essentially tried to do this in 'reverse' by creating colour wheels. We coloured the wheels in order of wavelength (red= longest, violet= shortest) and then attached to card. String was put through the centre and the children had to figure out the best method of spinning them as fast as possible in order for the colours to appear white. The children hypothesised what the outcome was likely to be.
