James Campbell Officially Opens our School Library

For the Grand Opening our our School Library, we were delighted to welcome local children's author James Campbell and the Framlingham Library manager, Vivia Bamford.

Mr Jewell (our English and KS2 Lead teacher) introduced our visitors to the Class Ambassadors and to the school staff in front of the Library.  Mr Jewell thanked the school team involved in creating the wonderful new library environment - Mrs Sears, Miss Turner, Mrs Lucas and Mrs Miller, and he also thanked Mrs Borg our library co-ordinator for her ongoing invaluable help to keep the library in order.

Mr Campbell had the Ambassadors and staff in hysterics with his numerous jokes, stories and anecdotes.  Before he cut the ceremonial ribbon to officially open the Library, he read an amusing piece named 'The School Library' from his book 'The Funny Life of Teachers'.

All the KS2 children are currently enjoying an assembly with Mr Campbell, and he will be spending time in class through the day answering the children's questions about writing and his stories, and doing another assembly to the younger children this afternoon.

The Framlingham Library manger, Ms Bamford, has spent the rest of the morning with Year 1 children in class after the opening. She enjoyed reading them a number of stories which the children loved, and it really sparked their interest.

Don't forget that its free to join the local Framlingham library, so Vivia would encourage all families to pop in and register for  a library card for their child, so they can come and select books whenever they like.  Mr Campbell told the children that if it wasn't for his local library growing up, he doesn't think he would be an author now!
