Class LH and Class JF welcomed aboard members of their family to their share session this afternoon all based around the pirates. The children dressed as pirates and were all welcomed in by Captain Hall and Captain Colchester.
As Mathematicians, most of the activities involved some form of maths. The children worked out coordinates and made treasure maps linking to Rene Descartes; played pirate based board games; made tangram boats and worked out other boats using half of regular 2D shapes. Other word problems were tackled; books were shared; jigsaws solved; colouring enjoyed and wordsearches completed along with 'Hit the Button' on the computer... what a busy afternoon!!!
Great teamwork, cutting skills and problem solving were used.
