Salvation Army thankful assembly

Lesley and Tanya from the Salvation Army visited us for our assembly today to remind us about the importance of Lent to Christians in the lead up to Easter.  They showed us some things that Christians may give up such as sweets, chocolate, puddings, fizzy drinks.  We were reminded that Christians do this to think about the time when Jesus went to the desert to fast and pray for 40 days.  Christians know that Lent can be a challenging time and recognizing that Jesus may have found it challenging too being in the wilderness.

We finished with a prayer about being thankful that Jesus who died on the cross for Christians and also reminded us to be thankful for our friends, family, food, our homes and teachers.
